Snowfest

Description

Spyder Surf partners Richard O'Reilly and Dennis Jarvis first introduced the idea of organizing a communitywide Snowfest last year, gathering some support from local merchants—and now Hermosa's business community will put on the second annual festival.

Using the same method as last year, specialized machines onsite will create snow along Pier Avenue out of large blocks of ice. The snow is expected to melt away after the event.

Along with bringing white flurries to the beach, the event also will include a tree lighting, live music, a movie on Pier Plaza, and Santa Claus (see accompanying city staff report under photo.)
