Admission-free professionally crafted Shakespeare, delivered under the summer stars in dozens of idyllic Southern California settings. 

Mission The mission of Shakespeare by the Sea is to bring classical works to underserved, culturally diverse audiences in order to ignite imagination, promote literacy and encourage artistic expression. Corporate sponsors, partnerships with local city organizations and generous donations enable the organization to offer the performances for free.

Since 1998, Shakespeare by the Sea has presented quality admission-free Shakespeare performances in dozens of communities throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. SBTS has blossomed over the years to their present repertory season that runs for 10 weeks.

The free summer festival remains the organization’s core program and has become a tradition for thousands of South Bay families.
