More info on Olio...
Exploring rock, funk and pop has been at the core of Olio since 1997 when it was established by singer/guitarist Arif Hodzic. The line-ups have changed over the years but the passion and fire are alive and well. With the ever-dynamic bassist, Kelley Hill, and the addition of legendary drummer Barry Chenault (George Clinton & P-FUNK Allstars, Gap Band) this iteration is solid on all fronts: song-craft, production and live performance.
Classically trained on piano from the age of 7, Arif started playing guitar at 13 inspired by Jimi Hendrix. At 17 he moved to L.A. for music and created Olio. He composes and produces music for various clients and is a voice-over artist. He can be heard on horror story and sleep story podcasts when he's not electrifying audiences with Olio.
Originally a drummer, Kelley is a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, piano and bass. He's a fireball of energy, bouncing on one leg and just tearing the bass up (you may even see metal shavings come off the neck). On stage, the band has to focus on their parts otherwise they get caught up watching what Kelley will do next.
From George Clinton & P-Funk All Stars, Gap Band and Boo Yaa Tribe to playing percussion for Donna Summer, Barry has toured the world as one of the premiere go-to drummers wowing audiences with his power, dynamics, versatility and finesse. He can also be seen sitting in with Rose Royce ("Car Wash", "I Wanna Get Next To You") on cruises, festivals and concerts.
Using only guitar, bass, drums & vocals, these guys have unleashed a sound that is not only undeniable but full and vibrant. A live band that is true to the term “live band”. Not letting anything get in between the music and the people. No laptops or playback devices, just plug in and play! Going to an Olio show means you are going to have fun, even if you have never heard of them before.
