Company Description

The South Bay Parkland Conservancy (SBPC) inspires and empowers communities to protect, tend, and nurture land, water, and life through advocacy, education, and hands-on stewardship. We envision a biodiverse and thriving planet, connecting communities with nature and each other for the well-being of all life, now and for generations to come. Established in 2004, SBPC works collaboratively with residents, local and state governments, and other environmental organizations to protect parklands for both current and future generations.

SBPC is looking to add a few key volunteer positions to help the organization grow in the next two years. Although these are volunteer positions, we want you to have a meaningful experience and be able to make an impact on the organization. This role requires 5-7 hours a week. A year-long commitment would be best.

Role Description

South Bay Parkland Conservancy (“SBPC”) is seeking a volunteer fundraiser to join our

tight-knit team. In this role, you will use your expert communication skills and keen sense of

initiative as well as fundraising experience (preferred) to spot fundraising opportunities, develop

relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. This includes

researching potential donors, developing fundraising strategies and campaigns, and organizing

events to solicit donations as well as cultivating relationships with donors, managing databases,

and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations.

By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers for the fundraising committee, you will hone your speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving SBPC closer to its financial goals. The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organized, with a knack for research. We are looking for someone who believes in SBPC’s mission and will demonstrate exceptional drive to further our existing fundraising efforts and help strategize and deliver new ones.
